夏の代名詞、朝顔。朝に花を咲かせ、昼にしぼんでしまう様子を「朝の美人の顔」にたとえた「朝の容花（かおばな）」が由来だそう。錦玉羹で表現された朝露で涼を添えた練り切りの和菓子。
